Matt earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from The University of Tennessee in 1995. He began his commercial real estate career in 1996 with Horne Properties, a national development firm and earned his Affiliate broker license in the State of Tennessee in 1996. Matt was involved in land acquisitions and development of numerous single tenant projects, grocery anchored shopping centers, and power centers. Additionally, he was the primary leasing agent for a number of retail shopping center projects throughout the eastern United States.

In 2012, Matt joined a Knoxville based Real Estate Development firm, Schaad Companies, where he led the leasing and management of a significant portfolio of retail, office, and industrial/warehouse buildings. During this time, he obtained his Tennessee broker license in 2015 and served as the Principal Broker for Capital Commercial Real Estate, the company’s real estate brokerage for nine years and brokered numerous $1,000,000+ land sales and long term ground leases.

Matt lives in Knoxville with his wife, Jennifer, and their three daughters.
