Holrob Investments was founded in 1997 by Robert Talbott as a commercial real estate development and investment firm. Raised in Knoxville and a graduate of both the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and the University Of Tennessee College Of Law, Mr. Talbott began his career in private practice with a focus on real estate, followed by a twelve-year tenure with Horne Properties, a major Knoxville-based developer of retail strip centers and freestanding credit leased facilities. During his time with Horne Properties, Mr. Talbott served as Executive Vice President, then President, before eventually launching his own firm in 1997.

His goal was to assemble a team of intelligent, quality-minded individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit focused on developing projects that were not only assets to retailers but also to the community. Within two years, Holrob Investments was working with national retailers on projects across the United States and had established itself within the marketplace as a leading commercial real estate firm. Holrob Commercial Realty was soon founded to complement Holrob Investments’ scope of work with commercial brokerage and property management services, and the two companies became known collectively as Holrob.

When the recession hit in 2008, the commercial real estate market was pummeled, and many companies, particularly development firms, collapsed. Because of Holrob’s diversification, we were able to sustain operations and continue growth by expanding our commercial brokerage and property management divisions. With the recovery of the industry, we returned our focus to development and have again become a presence in the market.
